Scottish Ensemble is a collective of outstanding musicians championing music written for strings, based in Glasgow, Scotland, and regularly performing across Scotland, the UK and the globe. SE creates thought-provoking events that genres, styles, musical periods and art forms to shed new light on classical music, whether in the concert hall or in its performances and projects at the heart of Scottish communities. 2019 marks the ensemble’s 50th Anniversary Season.
In recent years? Their adventurous, art-form-straddling collaborations with artists from different musical genres, art forms, and non-musical disciplines, often garnering rapturous responses in both newspapers and across social media.
